There are, however, allotments, garden houses, some with a small stove or sauna, and sports and event venues. If you have something there that you heat, write in the form what it is and when you plan to use it.
What is heated in Lucavsala
Lucavsala is part of the official Salas neighbourhood, and the neighbourhoods portal describes it as having limited permanent development. A flue here usually serves a small metal stove in a garden house, a sauna stove or a heating appliance in a sports, catering or event building. Large masonry stoves and multi-storey chimneys are not typical here, so the job often takes less time than in a city apartment building.

A small stove and a sauna on an allotment
Under the regulations, a small metal stove and a sauna stove are long-burn appliances, because they hold heat only for a short time. Their flue must be cleaned by 1 November and, if you also heat in winter, once more between 1 November and 1 March. If you heat the garden house only a few times in autumn, little soot builds up, but the flue pipe joints and the pass-through in the roof or wall still need checking.
The owner of a garden house may clean the flue of their own solid-fuel stove themselves, and then no certificate is needed. If we do the cleaning, we always prepare a certificate. More about sauna flues: sauna stove cleaning and chimney sweep for a summer house.

After flooding or a long period of disuse
Lucavsala lies on the Daugava floodplain, and the description of the area names flood risk as one of the main factors. If water has reached the stove or flue pipe, the metal rusts and the joints may have shifted. Before the first fire after such a winter, or after several years without use, it is advisable to clean and inspect the flue: check for birds' nests, whether the cap is in place and whether there are cracks in the pass-through in the timber structure.
Combustible materials must be at least 300 mm from the flue. In small garden houses it is precisely this distance that is often too small, especially at the ceiling. If we find this, we record it in the certificate, and a damaged flue must not be used.

Sports and event venues
Event and sports buildings, cafés and seasonal pavilions need a certificate in the company's name for each flue. If a venue is closed in winter and has a gas appliance that has not been used for more than six months, an extraordinary check with a certificate is required before it is used again.
If temporary pavilions with wood stoves or outdoor fireplaces are set up on site during events, their flues must be securely fixed and far enough from tent fabric and timber structures. An inspection of such installations can be requested before the event.

Getting to the island and the price
The island is reached via the Salu Bridge junctions. On the days of large events, traffic changes. At the allotments a car cannot always get right up to the house, so write how close a car can get and whether the allotment area has a locked gate.
Cleaning a small stove, sauna stove or other flue with a certificate costs from €100, call-out in Riga included. If the flue needs replacing or building from scratch, we quote the price after looking at it. All prices: prices.
