The few apartment buildings

From 2027: qualification and a written contract

The new Fire Safety, Firefighting and Rescue Work Law lists flue cleaning and technical condition inspection as fire safety services. From 01.01.2027 they may only be provided by a person with appropriate professional training, and a contract must be concluded with the service provider. For businesses this means that a verbal agreement with a chimney sweep will no longer be enough.

How a large flue is cleaned and checked

1. Layout First we find out which appliances are connected to which flue and where the cleaning doors are.
2. Cleaning A tall flue is cleaned with a longer set of rods or from the roof with a weight and brush. The soot is collected from the chimney base and the condensate pot.
3. Inspection If the inside of the channel cannot be seen, it is inspected with a camera: camera inspection.
4. Certificate A certificate is drawn up for the cleaning. If a repair is needed, we quote it separately, and the repair is done only with your agreement.
