Which buildings in Mārupe get district heating

SIA “Mārupes komunālie pakalpojumi” supplies heat and hot water to flat owners in apartment buildings in the town of Mārupe, Tīraine, Skulte and Piņķi. The company has four boiler houses: in Skulte, Tīraine, Mārupe (on Liepkalnu iela) and Piņķi. In Jaunmārupe heat is supplied by a private company, SIA “Industry Service Partner”, whose first regulated tariff was approved in August 2025.

The Mārupe municipality waste regulations forbid burning household waste, including on bonfires and in garden fireplaces. Branches and plants damaged by pests and garden waste that cannot be composted may be burned only in April and October, if this does not disturb others or create danger. The public order regulations forbid lighting bonfires outside designated places without the consent of the owner or occupier of the land.

A fireplace or boiler in the house is no place for garden waste in any month. Green branches and leaves smoulder in the firebox, and a thick layer of soot settles in the flue.

In the new residential areas of Mārupe the streets are often narrow, with varying surfaces, and between the villages there are drainage ditches and lower-lying areas.
